Throughout the festival, visitors will enjoy unlimited food and drinks, live cooking demonstrations by acclaimed chefs, exceptional Greek wines presented by local winemakers, iconic regional products, talks, tastings and traditional craft workshops. And of course, Saturday evening will culminate in a lively traditional Greek panigyri, bringing together music, food and celebration.

Curated by the editorial team behind Gastronomos, Kathimerini’s food magazine, this is the largest festival dedicated to Greek gastronomy ever created.

For two days, Piraeus 260 will host a carefully curated program that has been carefully prepared for months. Each experience highlights a different aspect of Greek culture, placing Greek cuisine in the spotlight.

The people you’ll meet are those Gastronomos has encountered during two decades of traveling across Greece: restaurant owners, taverna keepers and cafe hosts hidden away in the country’s most unexpected places. The list also includes producers working tirelessly to preserve the value of Greek agriculture and humble cooks who prepare every dish with genuine passion. Together, they are the remarkable people Gastronomos has come to cherish over the years: individuals driven by passion, creativity and an unwavering commitment to their craft.

The festival is the culmination of 20 years of Gastronomos’ journey across Greece. This year, as the magazine marks its 20th anniversary, the festival offers the perfect opportunity to celebrate the people, stories and traditions that have inspired us over the years.

Food, flavors and plenty of surprises

In the courtyard of Piraeus 260, 20 restaurants, tavernas and traditional cafes from across Greece will prepare signature dishes from their regions, while the outdoor kitchens will be alive with open-fire cooking throughout the festival.

On the Live Cooking Stage, some of Greece’s leading chefs will present demonstrations celebrating Greek cuisine, while Gastronomos experts will introduce visitors to the world of Greek wine, olive oil, cheese and honey through tastings and masterclasses.

Producers, scientists, chefs and artisans will also share their stories, knowledge and expertise through talks and interactive workshops.

On Saturday evening, the celebration reaches its peak with the authentic experience of the traditional Greek panigyri, featuring live music, dancing and plenty of delicious food. On Sunday, the spotlight shifts to some of Athens’ finest chefs, who will prepare dishes live for the audience.

Creative activities for children, tastings, workshops and the Gastronomos Quality Awards complete a weekend dedicated to the flavors, people and stories that define Greek gastronomy.
